Mrs. Jackie Giacomazzi
Jackie Giacomazzi was born and raised in Millbrae where she attended Millbrae School, Meadows Elementary, Taylor Middle School, and Mills High School. After high school, Jackie attended Chico State University receiving her degree in speech pathology. Knowing that she always wanted to teach children, she switched her path towards the teaching profession and earned her multiple subject teaching credential from San Francisco State. After years of teaching, Jackie decided she wanted to gain more leadership experience and earned her Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and her administrative credential, which she used at Taylor as Teacher in Charge during a principal transition.
Jackie joined the Millbrae educator family in 2002 and has been at Taylor her entire teaching career, mostly teaching 6th grade core curriculum. She has served various leadership positions both school and district wide. Jackie has been a teacher leader with the California Reading and Literature Project, and it was then that she discovered her love of coaching teachers in literacy and best instructional practices. After working with many schools and grade levels, she now holds the Technology TOSA position at Taylor Middle School.
In her Technology TOSA position, Jackie meets with teachers regularly to assist in integrating technology into lessons. She also researches new and relevant programs offered via technology that fit with the existing curriculum as well as serving as a supplement to bridge to the newly adopted State Standards for all subject areas. She is able to assist and observe teachers and students while using the many ChromeCarts on Taylor’s campus. She has developed a Taylor teacher website that shares technology resources and planning. In her role as technology coach, she also assists with new assessments that students take using the Chromebooks, as well as assisting teachers access the data to be used to guide their instruction.
Outside of the classroom, Jackie enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons. She also enjoys gardening, exploring new places, and trying out new recipes.
