Kaori Nakano DeNoia MA
Grew up in the teachers family and start teaching at her mother’s preschool as a teenager.
Mrs. DeNoia Graduated from a prestigious public music school , Kyoto Horikawa Music High school in Japan where she studied vocal performance. She then earned her BA from Kobe College and graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with MA in vocal performance where she studied with Herman Leroux.
Kaori also studied pipe organ with Wyatt Insko.
She is a first place recipient of the outstanding prize presented to her by the American Art Song Competition.
Kaori is passionate about teaching and has served as a choir director, pianist and organist for many organizations. To name a few, the San Francisco Girls Chorus, A.P. Giannini Middle School choir, Christ United Presbyterian Church, and her very own children’s choir called “Kirakiraboshi Children’s choir” in Japantown.
She currently directs Ragazzi Boys Chorus in Redwood City. She received her preschool and teaching credentials from the San Francisco State University. She also has Kodály training from Holy Names University.
She has intensive training with special need students and was a guest speaker at the Holy Names university - “How to integrate special needs student in music classroom” in May.
When she is not teaching, she enjoys singing with the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir. She recently finished touring for the Lavender Pen Tour to 5 states including Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. She is very thankful for MEF for supporting the music program and very excited to teach choir to all schools and grades at the Millbrae School District. Her dream is to start a middle school choir in the future.
