Eat Local, Fund Education Program

About the Program

The Millbrae Education Foundation (MEF) invites you and your business to participate in the joint fundraiser program to support local restaurants and contribute to MEF fundraising efforts. Since the launch in January, 2021 the program has generated over $5,000 of additional revenue to the participating restaurants.

On a chosen week between the restaurant and MEF (or at least a weekend) participating restaurants will donate 15-20% of the restaurant's revenue on the orders that mention the program to MEF. The program accounts for revenue for the orders generated from:

  • Dine-in orders that mention the program

  • Direct call or in person take-out orders that mention the program

  • Orders on the website using a code provided by the restaurant (optional)

  • Other options convenient for the participating restaurant (optional)

Benefits to the Participating Businesses

  1. Listing and recognition on the MEF program webpage, including the link to the participating business website and a phone number. https://www.millbraekids.org/eatlocal

  2. Badge of participation to display on the business window.

  3. Postings about the program with a display of the participant logos on the MEF social media, specifically our Instagram feed and Facebook page (with a total of 1500 followers between the two).

  4. Recognition of the program and participants in an email to 1100+ families in the school district.

About MEF

The Millbrae Education Foundation (MEF) is a non-profit organization that helps the Millbrae School District (MSD) provide a well-rounded, equitable education for our students by filling in funding gaps left by the local, state, and federal governments. We work in partnership with our families, the MSD, our parent organizations, and community partners. The MEF currently provides funds that specifically support technology instruction, social and emotional learning, and music education for all students in Millbrae District schools.
