Welcome to MEF's Read-A-Thon!

This fun event encourages the joys of reading and raises money for our schools.  Students will log the amount of time they read and collect donations from friends and family to raise money to support the MEF's 2023-24 fundraising goal of $750,000.

The MEF supports schools in the Millbrae School District – which is one of the lowest funded school districts in San Mateo County – by funding social emotional learning, music, arts and STEAM curricula for our kids, professional development for our teachers, and technology integration and support.

Step 1. Raise money, create a donation page.

If every Millbrae School District student could raise at least $100 per student, together we could raise over $200,000 for our schools. All donation amounts are welcomed. (Fundraising is strongly encouraged but not required to participate.) Create your fundraising page today and send it to your family and friends!

Step 2. Read. Read. Read.

All reading counts including the books that are read to you! Try to read at least 30 minutes a day from January 9 to January 23 and keep track using this paper log. Submit your paper log at the end of the read-a-thon or better yet, fill out this google form every week! The more you read, the more chances you have to win prizes!

FOR YOUR SCHOOL: If your school reads a total of 35,000 minutes, kids will get to watch their PRINCIPAL get slimed, pied or dunked!
